Amazon has announced a new entry for its basic Kindle line, and unlike its predecessors, it comes with adjustable lighting. Amazon has also freshened up its design, giving it more rounded corners and making it available in two color options: black and white. Kevin Keith, VP of Amazon Devices, said they get a lot of feedback from customers about how much they appreciate having a Kindle with lighting, since that allows them to read in any environment. The new e-reader comes with the tech giant's other reading features, as well, including Audible support, Whispersync and Whispersync for Voice, Goodreads, Smart Lookup, Goodreads integration and Family Library.

Instead of carrying around often hefty paper books, now they could carry thousand of books on one device. The first Kindles could, however, not be read in the dark without turning on the light. That was because they did not come with back-lighting. So, can you read books in the dark on a Kindle Paperwhite?

This addition took the amazing reading experience that was introduced by Kindle to the next level. Now instead of turning on the light in order to read your favorite book, all that you need to get going is adjust the brightness on your Kindle. That means you don't have to turn on a light at night and disturb your significant other if you want to relax and read a good book on your Kindle. You can access the light feature via the device's toolbar.
